The meeting was promoted by the United Nations Fund for Women - UNIFEM and by the Andean University Simón Bolivar. It gathered in Quito indigenous leaders from 9 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, belonging to 22 ethnic groups, to discuss the access of indigenous women to justice systems, and their relations with ancestral justice.
