The Carnival Ranch Flor do Sereno was created in 2000 by musicians and journalists who were clients of the Bip Bip bar in Copacabana. Its mentor was the music writer Elton Medeiros, and its godfather was Alfredo de Melo, owner of the bar. In the first two years, The Ranch had paraded in Atlântica Avenue and later it changed to a fixed location until 2013, first it was in Almirante Gonçalves Street and then in Atlântica Avenue.
