The Theater for the People campaign, also known as the kombi campaign, was created in the year 1973 by ACET - Carioca Association of Theater Entrepreneurs. Its objective was to offer tickets for ongoing shows at affordable prices in the month of December, which was considered a slow month for audience attendance. Tickets were sold in vans stationed in various neighborhoods across the city.
